Retro Record's initially started off as a record label where i'd be able to release my original music under. There were thoughts about creating a recording studio for local artists as well, but as my devotion for vinyl grew, it quickly became a record store.
Ive always been interested in transforming my music listening experience to solely physical media, and I love sharing that passion with others. The hands on experience of holding a physical copy of your favorite album is truly a unique feeling, which you cannot capture by playing streamable music.
The involvement of having to place the record onto the turntable and drop the needle is a tender activity in which I encourage people to try! Not only is the sound quality the best you will hear, but there are so many albums and songs that cannot be found on online streaming platforms, that are available on vinyl.

Being an overall creative person as well as having a dad who works in carpentry & painting that could teach me the skills; I myself repaired and painted the room that the shop occupies!
Our shop was ready to go and load in the record's on the 25th of September 2023. The inside of the closet door is stamped with my hand print in our signature seafoam green color

Owner of Retro Records, Alyssa Haze, is a singer and songwriter based in the Worcester area. Inspired by 1930's and 1940's jazz musicians, Haze takes her own unique, yet timeless approach with her vocal style and wide range. Playing a number of different instruments, Alyssa writes songs on the piano, and in addition to that she plays the flute.
When she's not listening to or creating music, Alyssa can be found roller skating, thrift shopping, enjoying a sunny day at the race track, reading poetry books, or messing around in the garage. Haze also enjoys making yummy baked treats and whipping up refreshing fruit based snacks; including her dad's recipe of cinnamon sugar apple slices. Her favorite food would have to be her father's home cooked dish of spaghetti.
Alyssa got started on record collecting just a short 2 years before pondering up the idea of what is now, Retro Records vinyl record shop. The very first album she purchased on vinyl would be Amy Winehouse's famous "Back to Black".
